Born in Kent, Rachel trained with her mother at the Lisa Maybank School of Dance. She then joined the Royal Ballet Senior Associate program, before receiving a scholarship to attend the English National Ballet School. She later completed her training at the Images of Dance Company under the tuition of Margaret Barbieri.
Upon graduation, Rachel toured Ireland and the UK with Ballet Ireland then joinedNiall McMahon’s New English Contemporary Ballet, where she had the opportunity to create work with choreographers including Richard Wherlock, Davide Bombane, Patrick Delcroix, Vanessa Fenton and Jamie Thomson.
In 2010 she started working as a freelance dancer and has since had a rich and varied career across many areas of the industry. Highlights have included performing with the Royal Opera in Manon, Adriana Lecouvreur and Athis (where she created the title role), and being part of the original West End cast of McQueen The Play. She has collaborated with choreographers, musicians, artists, photographers and fashion houses such as Agent Provocateur, Kate Spade and Dolce and Gabbana. Rachel was also invited to take part in the Nederlands Dans Theater summer intensive, where she had the opportunity to work with Paul Lightfoot and perform work by Sol Leon, Jiri Kylian and Crystal Pite.
Rachel is very interested in education and creating her own work, and has been working with schools and youth companies throughout her career, most recently creating ‘I play, you play, we play’ for Footprints Dance Company.
